2 plays to enjoy this month in Marin

Posted

• Randy Wyatt’s play “Robin Hood and the Heroes of Sherwood Forest” brims with the kind of wit, liveliness and chivalric innocence the Robin Hood story all but demands. The kids of San Rafael’s Mark Day School will perform Wyatt’s play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Showcase Theatre at 10 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael. Admission is $18 to $36. Go to tickets.marincenter.org.

• Frank Capra’s poignant 1946 film “It’s A Wonderful Life” has become a holiday tradition for generations of Americans, and in 2006, playwright Joe Landry re-imagined it as a live 1940s-style radio play. In a press release, Ross Valley Players executive producer Steve Price described the play as “a celebration of community, family, and the true meaning of the holiday season.” The Ross Valley Players will bring Landry’s adaptation to the historic Barn Theatre at 30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in Ross from Nov. 17 to Dec. 17. Admission is $20 to $35. Go to rossvalleyplayers.com.
