Posted

The Department of Taxation’s Carson City office will be relocating to its new home at 3850 Arrowhead Dr, Second Floor in Carson City the week of Nov. 13, 2023. It is moving from its current location, 1550 E College Parkway in Carson City.

The building was the former Harley Davidson Financial Building. In June it was announced that the state bought the building for $18.5 million, a 386 percent increase over its previous purchase, held by a Las Vegas investment company that bought the property for $3.8 million in January 2021.

Other state-owned offices are nearby, such as the Health and Human Services, and Division of Public and Behavioral Health offices.

The Department will be in the new building by Nov. 20, 2023. The Carson City office will be accepting visits by appointment only starting Nov. 13, 2023, until further notice according to the agency in a news release. During this transition, the Carson City office will not be accepting tax returns, payments, or other materials without an appointment. Available appointments will be limited during the transition.

Further, the Carson City drop box will not be available after 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 17, 2023, until further notice. The Reno office drop box will remain available for your afterhours needs.

Taxpayers may conduct certain business online, including registering your business, filing and paying most tax returns, and changing mailing addresses, among other things. The Department accepts certain credit card payments for online transactions only.

The public should contact the department's call center to assist with taxation business, assist with registration and filing online, and check the relocation progress. The number is (866) 962-3707.

The Reno and Las Vegas offices will remain open for normal walk-in business.
